Content That Should be on Your Blog

There’s two different types of content that is included in blogs.  Static content, and dynamic content.

What is static content?  Static content is designed to provide key information to your visitors. Static content doesn’t change often, and is usually accessible via menu.

  • About page – This page will include a mission statement & vision statement.  It should also include a short summary of the business or person the blog is about.  Answer a few questions for the about page – Who you are, what you do, why you do it, and how long you’ve been doing it for.  This page tells people why you decided to start a blog, and helps build rapport for your business.

  • Contact Page – This page gives the visitor a place to contact you or your business.  You may choose to use a contact form, or you might provide a phone number and business address.  You also want to include your social media links.

  • Services Page – This page provides a list of services that your blog offers.  You may wish to offer packages on this page, or simply tell people what services you and your business offer.

Additional pages you must include in your blog include:

  • Disclaimer Page – If you plan on monetize your blog, you must describe how your blog generates income.  This is necessary and should not be disregarded.

  • Privacy Policy – If you collect data from website visitors, you must explain why you are using it.  You must also put in Google Adsense or Google Analytics account on your blog.  A privacy policy must be used.  This page is required per CCPA and GDPR.

  • Terms of Service – If your blog is selling products or services, it is a good idea  to have a Terms of Service page due to liability.

These required pages are often linked in the footer menu.  For an example, scroll to the footer and look at the menu.
