Best WordPress Page Builders for Niche Blogging

After 14 years of building WordPress websites, I learned that the only page builders needed are Elementor Pro & WP Bakery.

Everyday, WordPress adds new plugins and themes from the community.  With so many choices, it can seem overwhelming.  And to top it off, everybody who is developing blogs to discuss niche blogging and ‘the best themes, and the best plugins’ etc. always want to create a list of 10 – 20 of their TOP plugins, resulting in nothing more than an affiliate link and a few sentences that explain very little about the software.

When I first outlined the content I wanted to create for iblogmind, I was originally going to create a list of “The top 10 Page Builder plugins for WordPress Niche Blogging.”  And then, I started to develop the content.  I get it.  That’s how you earn money.  You create great reviews and promote your products.

“I only use 3 of these plugins on a regular basis.  I guess I could create a ‘top 10’ list andn explain all of the plugins.  However as far as actually recommending them, I’d only end up recommending a handful of products that can be used on *every* niche blog, website, or sales funnel.

Elementor Pro is my absolute favorite WordPress plugin.  With an educational background in graphic design, Elementor Pro quickly became a favorite, due to it’s simple drag-and-drop interface.  If you like Adobe software, you will love Elementor Pro.

Elementor Pro has a great support and development team.  With a huge community, you can always find somebody willing to help you find the solution to any problem you may encounter.  Their team is constantly improving Elementor – and they have been around for 10 years.  With updates every few months, they are always adding new features.  During 2023, they started implementing AI solutions and dedicated hosting options.  I look forward to what 2024 has to bring.

It’s quick to learn, and with a “what you see is what you get” type of page development, you can say goodbye to complicated coding issues and “Hello” to your new best friend.

It’s also great when designing mobile responsive.  Instead of having to create several different pages for different devices, Elementor Pro allows you to hide certain elements for certain devices.

Pros
Cons

The top complaint about Elementor Pro is it’s code can be top heavy. The Elementor development team quickly addressed this issue by providing Hosting Options, starting at $9.99/month for 1 website (25k Views/Monthly).

I’d recommend if you are using Elementor Pro with a hosting company like Host Gator, to opt for a faster Web Host.  During my time using Elementor Pro, I’d recommend building with HostGator.  Web hosts, in an effort to keep annual costs low, end up lagging.  I’d also suggest to avoid extremely discounted hosting plans (DreamHost, 1and1), their shared hosting plans are extremely slow and can make development problematic.

I’d also recommend all images that you use in your design be optimized to be the smallest file size possible.    This is not saying it’s “slow” or “less superior” than other page builders.  You just have to be aware that Elementor Pro is for creating Page Layouts – Once you start getting into everything like fully functional membership sites etc. etc., yes, you can use Elementor Pro, however it should only be for specific parts of your sales funnel, and not for every single aspect of a complicated and intricate site with member functionality.

If you like WYSIWYG Editors, you will love WP Bakery.

WP Bakery page builder is another favorite – it’s unique because they have two different editing modes.

WP Bakery has an award winning editor – the front end drag-and-drop WYSIWYG page builder allows WordPress users the ability to see their changes in real time that makes creating layouts and placing elements exactly where you want them.

The back-end editor allows for faster editing, and once comfortable with WP Bakery, makes developing content and creating websites fast and enjoyable.

If you like designing WordPress pages, and enjoy having creative flexibility, WP Bakery is the perfect WordPress page builder for your WordPress niche blog.

Cons

WP Bakery has been said to be more complicated to understand compared to Elementor Pro when it comes to layout elements.  WP Bakery “rows” can become troublesome, especially for new users who do not ‘delete’ rows prior to adding new ones.  This creates breaks in the pages, and can cause the code to be messy.  It can also have rendering effects.
